I was expelled from Maghull Musical Theatre Company on 13th June 2010 for allegedly being in breach of rule 9b.
"The committee may, by a unanimous vote, remove from the list of members the name of any member whose conduct they consider to endanger the welfare of the society"
Quite frankly, this was bullshit. I've heard a lot of stories why I was kicked out, but the committee has not shared with the members the original reasons why. I will.
I joined MMTC in 1993, until I was kicked out in 2010 I had raised over £9,000 using the Barclays £ for £ matching, for the society, worked as the Ticket Secretary for 8 years, used Barclays Match Charity days to work 2 full days in the box office for each show for approx 6 years, worked back stage on various "Get in's" and "Get outs". Designed and maintained the society’s website, creating over 2500 pages, co-wrote a show, designed various programmes & flyers, organised a team of Barclays volunteers to paint and decorate the rehearsal halls, Oh yes, and appeared in many a show, the list goes on and on and on of my commitment to MMTC.
My own belief is that I was one of the few people whilst on committee would stand up to the past Chairman and say "No, that’s not fair", so I was a threat, so I we expelled. If you don’t believe me, have a look at how many shows the past Chairman has Choreographed and or directed since she became Chair, its more than any other member of the society since it was founded.
In the history of the society, only three people have been expelled, all started by the past Chairman.

Oh... and NODA refused to do anything, bar confirm that it was a "Society matter" and there was nothing they could do..... yea thanks NODA.
